I want to save lives - I want to do it now, and I know you want to help me.

As you may have seen at the end of the debate on 'funding the war on poverty', I stood up and pledged 10,000 dollars and asked people to follow me. Already, within a few minutes we raised nearly 100,000 dollars - I want to raise at least one million. It's money that will go directly to the Global Fund to Fight Aids Tuberculosis and Malaria - to buy bed nets to stop deaths from malaria in the developing world.

You will be contacted once the Annual Meeting is over by the World Economic Forum to see how the payment will be managed.

amazing isn't she? she stood up at the debate upon 'Debt Relief For Africa' conference at the World Economic Forums concerning economic development for countries in that part of the world.. especially to help those who were suffering from diseases such as HIV and AIDS when people are dying a million a year.

she practically put the whole corporate crowd of rich economists, businessmen, and such to a silence when she stood up, took the mic, and took the voice for the oppressed. i felt that was unimaginably courageous of her, it was really awesome. RESPECT! she's on my "want-to-meet-if-i-could" list now.

how much we wish if there were more people like her today, to make this world that we live in, a better place for you and for me and the entire human race huh? yeah i say fk apathy. we're going to do something. we're going to make a difference, yes! i think today is the day we'ld start, in our own ways and whatever. she's helping people in Africa(someday i would if i could) but i'd say we'ld put in all our efforts to help those who were affected by the tsunami. let's keep the flame burning in our hearts- the fire to want to do good. yeh. still praying hard to get a venue down for rock against tsunami.
